Small Gear At OAR

At OAR we have a large (and increasing) variety of gear related to biking, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and more.
Sitting at my computer as I write this, I can see day and multi-day packs, fishing poles and reels, fishing nets, bicycle helmets, climbing harnesses, climbing helmets and shoes and gloves, a full face motor cross helmet, gun holsters, tennis rackets, bows, rifle scabbard, dove decoys, boots, more boots, a tent, camp chairs, scope, lanterns, camp cookware, black powder bag, gps holders, headlamps, sleeping bags, bicycle locks, water jugs, water bottles, small coolers, reflective vests, sun glasses, canvas saddle bags, tree climbing ropes, ice skates, youth snowboard helmets and one lonely snowboard, waders, snow shoes, roller blades, life jackets, swim fins, small canoe paddle and one very awesome kayak.
We also have a wide variety of technical clothing (both warm weather and cold weather, because the weather in the mountains can change on a dime).
Mens and womens summer tops, work out shorts and quick-drying hiking shorts, nylon jackets for cool nights on the strip and insulated jackets for cold nights in the mountains, lined and unlined pants, hats and buffs and ear warmers and gloves, base layers, wool socks and tech socks, button down dress shirts by Salomon and fleece tops by The North Face.  The best selection of used camo clothing in town.
And lots more.
If it is in good to excellent condition and related to any activity that people like to do when they head into the out-of-doors, OAR will accept on consignment and try to find each piece a new home.
Some quick pictures of some of the small gear we have at OAR:

A Mountain Of Gear

We have been VERY busy at OAR this past week.
Over the weekend we picked up a huge amount of primarily hunting gear.
When I dumped it all in a pile on the floor beside the counter we had a mountain of gear three feet high, and all I could think was "Awesome!!  Now where the heck am I going to put it all?"
It took three days, tons of cleaning and researching and labelling and fixture installing but.....we got it all done, and now we have some totally cool stuff to offer the local outdoor adventure community.
Holsters, saddle bags, duffel bags, back packs, hunting books, ammo pouches, rifle cases, more camo hunting jackets and vests.
Lots more.

At the top of the post is a Bianchi, western rig belt and holster for single action 45 cal, 34 inch waist. A link to a site that has many good pictures of the same belt:

Mountainsmith Cross Country II internal frame multi-day pack for sale. This awesome pack is brand new, still with tags, and comes with detachable day pack.
Vintage military ski poles (we believe they're from the 60's).

We have a number of strong and sturdy canvas duffel bags in sizes ranging from small to large.
There are both Cabelas and Dunns brands, and they are all clean and in excellent condition.
One of my favorite people brought this beautiful jacket in for consignment a week or so ago.
A Tri Mountain Mens XL jacket. Large external side zippered pockets and one external zip chest pocket, lined, multiple ventilation points.
An awesome jacket for a big guy.
OK........these pictures have absolutely nothing to do with the store but we think they're awesome pictures anyway.
Last weekend our sweet old pup Jamie was sitting and looking out through the screen door at the front of the house.
When she started to growl I thought that she had seen a bunny or a cat (both of which we have in abundance in the area, and James would happily rip them to shreds if she had the chance).
Instead, when I looked outside I saw these guys grazing on our neighbor's front lawn.
The other picture is an old wagon we have at the edge of our driveway.
I love that thing.

A S&W ammo belt, 30 cal, 34 inch waist, and a Broadus Boot and Tack , Tracy Fruit Maker ammo belt, 45-70 cal, 34-36 inch waist.
Two pairs of Simms boots.
One has a felt sole.  The other has a leather sole that is screwed to the upper.
They are both in excellent shape and are very high quality.

Just a reminder that ex, retired and currently serving military and law enforcement receive 25% off all of their OAR purchases throughout the month of May.
Our very small way of saying thank you for your service.
A beautiful table for sale, made of reclaimed wood that was salvaged locally, antlers, rope and new Plexiglas.
It is a lovely piece that we have used at the store to display some of the natural decorative items we have in one dedicated space in the store, but we would love to find it a new home.

Throughout May current, ex and retired military and LEO's will receive 25% off all their purchases at OAR.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

It's been a busy past week at the store in terms of folks consigning their gear with us.
Thank you to all those who have remembered OAR as they were doing their spring cleaning and clearing out their closets and garages.
We appreciate our consignors SO much!
A quick look at just some of the great gear that has come in recently:.

Hank Roberts stove and a Bianchi camo day pack.

Sunrise gun case scabbard and Trout and Goose fishing soft case

We've got three bows at the store right now - 2 Brownings and a Bear.
An Orvis fishing vest.
Tasco 4 x 32 scope (it's got a few scratches and is functional but has been well used) and an awesome leather belt

Island Of Misfit Gear

After 8 weeks in business, OAR is quickly turning into The Island Of Misfit Gear
We've got everything from gun holsters and bow cases and fishing rods, to base layers and Columbia jackets and sleeping bags.
We've got skis and boots and fleece tops.
In baskets and on stands we've got neck warmers and ear warmers and gloves and hats.
I picked up a Columbia down hunting jacket the other day (reversible - camo and hunters orange, full zip and storm flap).
It is now hanging on a rack beside a Winchester hooded and fleece lined camo hunting jacket, and a Cabelas camo hunting jacket.
And that's only a small sample of what we are beginning to collect.
When I think back on the past couple of weeks, we have sold a variety of gear that included ice skates, antique snow shoes, an elk cook book, a gun rack, a Campmor fleece, and a Columbia winter jacket.
Pictured above are the following:
1.  Pair of Fischer cross country skis
2.  Tsunami sweater
3.  Oxygen Element 580 snowboard (152) - without bindings, has a few scratches but no major dings, and graphics on both sides are still in great shape
4.  Large framed black and white picture

Drop by the store to check us out, and if you have gear just gathering dust in your garage that someone else could make use of, consider consigning it and giving it a new lease on life.
Our winter hours are Wednesday through Saturday 9am-5pm.

Looking For.............

Every time I walk into the other room I find this guy staring at me from a shelf by the window.
He's only one of many whimsical or cute or rustic decorations we currently have for sale, but crazy-eyed Garfield always makes me smile.
One of the really awesome things about running a consignment store is that you never really know what's going to walk in the door.
When we first opened OAR I expected the regular outdoor stuff - tents, packs, boots, jackets.
Some very cool and unexpected things have come in recently:
1.  A CC Filston Company jacket.
Now, until a super nice guy walked in with this baby I had never heard of CC Filston, so had to do some research to figure out what we had.  What we have is a very rugged, very high end, and beautifully made coat.
2.  A few days after OAR opened its doors another super nice guy walked in and asked me if we were interested in a drift wood table.  He apparently makes them and sells them all over the western portion of the United States.
Caught off guard we thought.......uh..........sure, why not?
We had not anticipated taking in drift wood tables but have one room set aside for rustic and rugged decorative "stuff" - pictures, copper candle holders, outdoor books, wood and metal figurines, outdoorsy picture frames, that sort of thing.
Well the driftwood and antler table made it's way through the front door yesterday, it is beautiful and the picture does not do it justice.
We're glad we said "sure, why not"?
Awesome snow shoes that would look great in a cabin or rustic home, or beside a fire place................
We still have this Eberlestock Tactical pack for sale.
More information on this awesome and rugged piece of equipment here:
We've got climbing gear that includes shoes, gloves, harnesses, a helmet, webbing and hardware.
We are not accepting climbing hardware on consignment (this includes everything from Figure 8's to ascenders to carbiners to climbing axes), so once these are gone, they're gone and we will not have any more unless brand new and still with tags.
OAR is definitely accepting other climbing gear on consignment though, such as more shoes, more gloves, more helmets and harnesses, chalk bags, etc.
LOOKING FOR!  LOOKING FOR!  LOOKING FOR!
Someone came into the store the other day looking for a left handed compound or cross bow.
If you have one and want to consign it (and hopefully sell it) please contact us at OAR.
We may already have a buyer!

LOOKING FOR!  LOOKING FOR!  LOOKING FOR!
Outdoor Adventures Revived is looking to include more outdoor gear options into its' inventory.
Since OAR is the only outdoor gear and consignment store in the area, we are actively working to make it THE place to go for high quality, gently used equipment.
We could use more day packs / headlamps (include batteries) / hiking boots / road and trail running shoes (with not too many miles on them) / archery equipment.
We also welcome more clothing - everything from wool and Smart Wool socks to winter gloves to buffs and neck gaiters to fleece tops and winter jackets.
Those are only ideas to get you started but we will accept all kinds of cool outdoor stuff (trekking poles?  back country stoves?  map cases?  firearm holsters?   cold weather sleeping bags?)

Facebook here we come!
Working on an OAR Facebook page over the next few days.
We'll post here when it's up and running.

Interesting and Cool Stuff

This morning a retired law enforcement officer brought this pack into the store on consignment.
Because I did adventure racing for so many years I own a lot of packs in different sizes, and in brands normally named Gregory or Salomon.
But THIS pack is a whole different animal.
It is a great looking, rugged, tough and very serious piece of gear.
Here is a link about this Eberlestock Tactical Gunslinger 2.
Awesome piece of gear available to buy here at OAR for half the price of new:

There is a forest of skis starting to grow in a corner of the store right now.
They all have names like Rossignol, Fischer and Atomic.
None of them are the latest and greatest (at least not yet!), but if you are looking for a good, solid set of skis to get you out on the slopes without breaking the bank, come take a look at what we have.
We have boots as well, but are definitely looking for more of both.
If you want to clean out your garage (or downsize your ski and boot collection) bring what you have down to OAR and we'll sell them for you!
This awesome snowboard is a 63 Flow Mainframe with Salomon bindings.  It's for a taller person and is in great shape.
We've got gloves, hats, socks, base layers, fleece tops in all weights, snowboard pants, lined and unlined nylon pants - all the clothing you need to look good and stay warm out on the slopes.

Not long after OAR opened for business a retired law enforcement officer was talking to my husband (who is also a retired LEO - I'm detecting a pattern here!).
They had their heads together beside the counter while they were looking at these items above.
A leather holster, a gps bag, belt pouch, Tex Shoemaker holster, baton loop, Bianchi holster and more.
They are all for sale at OAR.

The last picture (bottom right) is a picture of pure black and blue awesomeness!
When I was racing I could never afford a Mountain Hardwear jacket.
I always needed so much STUFF for so many different sports, that I spent most of my time searching through online outlet stores for the best I could afford, which was never Mountain Hardwear.
This jacket fell into my lap early this year and is for sale at the store.
Double storm flaps, pit zips, side slash pockets, chest zipper, arm zipper, inside zippers, lined, waterproof, windproof and with hood.
It's got it all.
We've got a good number of Columbia jackets - soft and hard shell jackets and winter jackets.
But so far only one black and blue awesome!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by OAR to both consign, buy, browse and visit!
We are very grateful for the warm reception we have received!
